Sensei Dave Hazard
Sensei Dave Hazard (7th Dan) is awesome!
Not much more needs to be said about Byakko’s Technical Advisor – that pretty much sums him up.
Dave Hazard - pictured left with Sensei Grahame - was born in London in 1952 and is a former Karate Union of Great Britain national champion and British team member.
He first trained in judo before beginning karate at the Blackfriar’s Club in 1969 and, more than 30 years later, went on to found the Academy of Shotokan Karate in 2003 where he is also Chief Instructor.
As part of Sensei Hazard’s current role with Byakko, he makes regular trips to BSKA’s Honbu Dojo in Ripon to offer specialist masterclasses, preside over Dan (black-belt) gradings, share his encyclopaedic knowledge of karate and provide general help and advice to everyone.
His sessions are always massively popular and over-subscribed. If you’ve ever been to one, you’ll know exactly why.
