Sensei Grahame Hunter (3rd Dan)
Meet Sensei Grahame Hunter (3rd Dan) who has nutured Easingwold Shotokan Karate Club from its small beginnings in 2003 to where it is today.

He decided to learn karate at the age of 13 to beat the bullies who had plagued his life for six miserable years. It was a decision that would enable him to take control, win back his self-esteem and change his life forever.

Karate has been a part of his life ever since.

His first experience of teaching came during a spell with the Army when he was posted to Bosnia. One of his senior officers was mesmerised watching Grahame as he practised, lost in a world of his own, and asked him to teach his colleagues.

Back in the UK, he met Sensei Ady Gray at the Ripon School of Karate. The rest is history.

Sensei Grahame became the North East Senior Kata Champion in 2005 and won a silver medal in the North East Open Senior Kumite category - which he entered with Sensei Ady Gray.

However, teaching is where Sensei Grahame's passion is firmly rooted and every week, he shares that passion with students of all ages and across the range of grades.
